Do you live or work in Northmoor? This year we’ll be preparing a new Neighbourhood Plan for Northmoor that will look to the future. It’s an exciting time and a great opportunity for the people who live and work in Northmoor to get involved in planning for the future.
In July, colleagues met, had a walk around the neighbourhood and discussed how best to reach our customers and get your views on where you live. This engagement day was the start of a programme of activity that will help ensure that customers’ views are at the forefront of shaping our future neighbourhood plan for Northmoor.
We want to understand what is important to you about Northmoor.
December 2023 - We're working hard in the background to make sure that we have lots of information about our customers and the other residents in Northmoor. This will help us to know what the area needs in the future. You can still post your comments in our Guestbook below once you have registered.

Not enough parks and areas for the children to play.

Everything is okay, safe. Sometimes litter is a problem. My son picks up litter.

No lights in the park is unsafe. An old person like me would not feel safe. The grass is too long (Crowcroft Park). I get disturbed by Anti-Social Behaviour. There's plenty of rubbish in the streets. No one cares.

People actively throwing rubbish. Bins not being collected. It's getting progressively worse. People just fly-tip household rubbish. There are gangs and unfriendly people.

The area has gotten better over the years. It needs to be kept neater and tidier. More bins and more information on the community centre.

The parks are a state. Massive problem with litter. More youth and play areas needed.
Lack of benches in the area. People trash benches. People break in to sheds.

Mess! The park doesn’t feel like a park. It lacks facilities. There's nothing for the older men. We cannot do much.

A lot of problems, a lot of assaults, lots of fights. My shop has been robbed over 50 times. Lots of drug dealing.

I would change… I would have a family led community, where women are at the centre of any organising. Community ownership, rather than any larger body dictating what happens. Devolve power down to the lowest level, away from even Housing Associations.

Need more women's activities

Cleanliness. There's a lot less activities compared to other cities. Why are we still living in Manchester? Should be more activities. Activities that are here are over-crowded. Massive problem with drugs. You're scared to voice your problem. Parents don't feel safe sending kids to parks, so they play in the streets and cause problems.

There should be more activities. There's no engagement. We don't see Great Places around Northmoor. My daughter is my first and I want her to manage time in summer. Great Places should fund activities and I feel they should organise parent advice for new mums. Mums should get skills and training during the school days - Mums and children's tasks together. Great Places should organise a litter pick. Longsight area is messy so they should organise a clean-up.

It has been changing a lot - new buildings and projects, but we need more. It's a really mixed area. It would be good to have theatre to tell the story of the area - how people came to be here. I do puppet theatre. Schools can't always teach all of this, so it's important that there are things going on in the area to help communities to understand each other.

I want more lights and cameras. I don't feel safe in the car park at night. Cameras will stop crime. I'd like a toilet in the park and more seating with cover - better benches with shelter from the raid for older people.

It is okay. Some people throw rubbish out of their car but apart from that, it is okay.
