Grounds maintenance updates

Working alongside the Neighbourhoods team, our Grounds Maintenance team has carried out a programme of work across Wybourn to tackle overgrown, hard‑to‑manage planting and garden areas.

Hedge reduction works have now been completed at multiple properties to bring large and dense hedges back to a manageable and sustainable level. This work has now finished, with one small missed area scheduled to be completed shortly.

Additional targeted works have also been carried out where gardens were difficult to access or had become unmanageable. This has included reducing overgrown sloped areas, removing invasive plants such as bramble and buddleia, cutting back low tree branches, and improving access to help make future maintenance easier.

Support has also been provided for a number of concessionary gardens across the neighbourhood. These properties received multiple visits to help with garden upkeep where access is difficult or where residents are unable to maintain their gardens themselves.

In several locations, clearance works were completed to landlocked or shared areas between gardens. This included removing overgrown vegetation, small trees and debris, and applying treatments to help slow regrowth.

Tree works have also been carried out at a small number of properties where trees were causing structural concerns due to their size or location. This included safely reducing or removing trees and clearing all waste from site.

Overall, this programme of work has helped improve safety, accessibility and the appearance of landscaped areas across Wybourn, and we’ll continue to review locations where further support may be needed.
